Volunteering at The Discovery Center

Are you looking to spend more time outside, getting your hands dirty and helping wildlife and humans along the way? The Discovery Center wants you for our Volunteer Crew! Our volunteers will help care for and improve the ecosystems and trails here at The Discovery Center.

Volunteer projects include:

  • Weeding, watering, and caring for our Native Pollinator Garden

  • Trail-tending and removal of unwanted plants that block the view

  • Guiding visitors and lending a hand during public events

No prior experience is needed, all necessary training and materials will be provided.

Children 8 to 15 must have a responsible adult accompanying them for orientation and on volunteer days. Youth 16 to 17 must have a responsible adult attend orientation with them and sign the waiver, but can participate in volunteer days unaccompanied. Families with children younger than 8 are welcome to participate, but please note this in the interest form if you plan on bringing them with you (under Anything else you’d like to share).

All volunteers are required to:

  • Fill out the interest form below

  • Attend an orientation session

  • Fill out a waiver and emergency contact form

  • Attend trainings as scheduled throughout the year

Once you fill out the form below, Matthew, our Center Coordinator, will be in touch to confirm your orientation and get you started on your paperwork. We look forward to having you on board!
